Say Yes Student Spotlight | Tristan Bey

A 2025 graduate of the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central, Tristan Bey, a Say Yes student, has begun his college journey at Syracuse University.

A 2025 graduate of the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central, Tristan Bey is already charting an ambitious path forward. A Say Yes scholar, he has begun his college journey at Syracuse University, where he is majoring in Television, Radio and Film. One of the things he values most about his first year is the freedom to explore new ideas, discover his interests and take advantage of opportunities that broaden his perspective.

Tristan hopes to build a career as a film producer while continuing to be an active voice in his community — a commitment shaped in part by what he learned through Say Yes. After attending an information session led by Ahmeed Turner, vice president of scholarships & student success and executive director of Say Yes Syracuse, he came away describing the program as “a gateway to many big things,” adding that it “supports equal opportunity amongst those who may not have it in other places.”

His advice to other high school students considering Say Yes is simple and heartfelt: “You are being given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Please don’t waste it.”
