Syracuse University Summer Internship Program

The Syracuse University Summer Internship Program is a partnership between Syracuse University and Syracuse City School District that provides opportunities for rising seniors to practice and gain hands-on work experience in their chosen learning pathway by participating in a paid six-week internship on Syracuse University’s campus. Listed below are some examples of the placement opportunities for students:

Potential Placement Opportunities

  • Office of Cultural Engagement for the Hispanic Community & La Casita
  • Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) Communications
  • Syracuse University Athletics Marketing
  • Community Folk Art Center

Details:

  • 6-Week Program running July-August
  • Monday — Thursday; 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • Paid opportunities aligned with learning pathways
  • Placements will be at various locations on the SU Campus
  • Upon completion, students will receive a professional reference from their supervisor and a certificate of recognition from Syracuse University

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must be a rising senior (current 11th grader), or a graduating senior in the Syracuse City School District (SCSD), and meet Say Yes eligibility requirements (3 years in SCSD – resident of the city of Syracuse).
  2. Must be in good academic standing.
  3. Must be selected for placement by SCSD Say Yes program representatives.
  4. Must complete all necessary intake paperwork and pre-orientation process with CNY Works.
  5. Must complete orientation with SCSD prior to program start date.
