Say Yes Student Spotlight – Xy’El Bradford

Where did you go to high school, and when did you graduate?

I attended high school at Syracuse Academy of Science and graduated in 2020.

What college are you going to & what is your major(s)/minor(s)?

I am currently attending SUNY Potsdam, majoring in business administration and minoring in sports management.

What do you like most about college?

I like being able to live the college experience, as well as play basketball at the collegiate level.

What are your goals after college?

After college, I plan to gain my master’s degree and move out of state to create a career for myself. My future career is to create my own business in the aspect of sports.

How did you learn about Say Yes to Education Syracuse?

Attending schools in the City of Syracuse growing up, Say Yes was introduced to me back in elementary school. It provided different activities and ideas that made my childhood great and supported me throughout my life as it still is today.

What does Say Yes mean to you?

To me, Say Yes means having the opportunity to create a path of success and greatness for yourself, with lots of resources and people who are encouraging and pushing you to be the best you can be.

What advice would you give high school students who are considering seeking a college degree through Say Yes?

High school students who are seeking a college degree through Say Yes, I strongly encourage you to take this opportunity and use it! Many people don’t have this opportunity, and it is a great opportunity to take advantage of because it’s not given often.
